Orange Slovensko, the largest mobile telecommunications company in Slovakia, has purchased a OMA Software Upgrade module from Mobilethink.
This enables Orange Slovensko to expand the functionality of its current version of the Mobilethink OTA Terminal Management Platform. The OMA Software Upgrade module enables Orange Slovensko to broaden its support of new phone models from leading vendors like Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Panasonic and Microsoft that implement the latest OMA Device Management standard (OMA Client Provisioning 1.1).
With the rollout of a new generation mobile phones supporting emerging OTA protocols and Device Management standards, operators are again facing new challenges in their quest to help their customers with more simple ways to handle over-the-air automated phone configuration. The Mobilethink OTA Terminal Management Platform offer a modular solution to operators comprising extensive support for all common OTA provisioning protocols, terminal library, handset update service agreements, and developer tools, that can help to simplify and speed-up the adoption of new Value Added Services on new terminals using Over-The-Air technologies.
"The OMA Software Upgrade module from Mobilethink shows Mobilethink's commitment to offer existing and new customers full support of new open industry Device Management standards," says Lars Houbak, CEO of Mobilethink, "This eliminate the need for operators to adopt different solutions to manage terminals from different vendors".
As a part of the agreement Orange Slovensko is also provided with access to Mobilethink's extensive Terminal Library.
